KLEIN, TX – The Klein ISD Education Foundation has received two checks totaling $3,700 from MOD Pizza over the past two months to support the Foundation’s fundraising effort for the STEAM Express mobile classroom.
Donations will go to fund additional resources for the STEAM Express mobile classroom, which is a 48-foot-long custom-built enclosed trailer that will bring STEAM education (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) to K-12 students of the Klein ISD.
MOD Pizza, which is located at 10123 Louetta Rd., Houston, TX, 77070, chose to support the Foundation during its grand opening celebration as their charity of choice. During that event, MOD Pizza was able to raise and donate $2,100 to the Foundation.
“MOD exists to inspire. Not just with our pizza, but with our actions as well,” said Scott Svenson, co-founder and CEO of MOD. “When we opened the first MOD store over six years ago, we set out to put people first, celebrating our MOD Squad, our customers, and the communities we serve. In a response to our employees’ desire to connect with their communities, we try to provide as many opportunities as we can for our Squads to experience the joy and the inspiration that comes with giving back.”
MOD Pizza also chose to support the Foundation during its “Spreading MODness” campaign which took place over Thanksgiving break. As a result of the “Spreading MODness” push, they were able to raise and donate an additional $1,600 for the Foundation.
“With our growth, we expect to help twice, if not three times, the number of people as last year,” Svenson said. “Spreading MODness is all about making a positive impact and we intend to do this in a very big way.”
The STEAM Express is equipped with 40 feet of classroom space, a wheelchair lift to ensure access for all Klein ISD students, a dropdown stage with a 19 foot awning and a 20 kilowatt diesel generator to power the air conditioning system and computer displays.
